You’d be quackers to miss this!
We’ve really been getting into the Christmas spirit as we prepare for our concert on Saturday 10th December. We don’t often sing so close to Christmas and so we decided to include Christmas carols in the second half. And we’ve also decided on mulled wine and mince pies for the interval (plus non-alcoholic alternatives). Some pictures below of our preparations:
As we were practising for the concert, we had some sad news. The long-time Sine Nomine member and cherished friend, Christopher Luetchford, died in November. We were able to sing at his funeral and have decided to dedicate this concert to him. Christopher was someone who, no matter how he was feeling, always managed to bring a smile to your face. Often with an awful, but funny, pun. At our last rehearsal, we spent our tea break telling jokes and laughing, just as we have at so many rehearsals with him. Jokes included the classics:
“I say, I say, I say, why are there no aspirins in the jungle? Because the parrots-eat-em-all!”
“A short gambler goes into a butcher’s and asks for two pieces of beef. The butcher says ‘they’re on the shelf up there, get them for yourself.’ And the gambler says ‘I can’t, the steaks are too high!'”
We are looking forward to our Christmas concert and hope you can join us. After all, you’d be quackers to miss it!
