Next Concert – 30th November
Thank you for reading our second newsletter.
Next Concert
The main news is that we are practising hard for what should be a fantastic concert on November 30th. We’ve been learning some intriguing facts about the composers. For example, Purcell only lived to 36 having caught pneumonia from being locked out of his house after a pub-crawl. And Charpentier had the idea of using folksong themes as its musical basis for his Midnight Mass. To quote our conductor, Richard, “The choir is really enjoying the variety of styles and music as our composer journey takes us to Italy, Germany, England and France.” And we are excited to be singing with the renowned Orpheus Sinfonia again. Tickets are available here. There is a reduced rate if purchased in advance. The full program is available here.
Members
We asked members why they sing with the Sine Nomine Singers. Two members’ comments below:
“I was looking to join a smaller choir because I wanted to take my singing to the next level. In Sine Nomine Singers, every voice matters and that really helps you develop your listening and singing abilities.” (A new member in the Alto section)
